Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Ben has spent the last 20 years in the lower mainland where he attended Burnaby North Secondary school and Capilano University before finishing both his undergraduate Bachelors in Kinesiology (BKin) and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at UBC. Dentistry has been a lifelong goal of Dr. Ben and he places a large emphasis on establishing good personal rapport and relationships with each individual and educating his patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health and habits throughout their lifetime.
Dr. Ben offers a wide variety of dental treatments including basic restorative, crown and bridge work, root canal treatment, extractions, family, pediatric, and geriatric dentistry, amongst other things. There is a big focus on informed consent and ensuring patients have their main concerns addressed while providing excellent and comfortable care. Your individual preferences and choices matter and Dr. Ben will ensure your concerns are heard and addressed while providing the best treatment plan that works for you and your oral health.
In his spare time, Dr. Ben enjoys playing a variety of sports (golf, hockey, basketball, tennis), enjoying time outdoors, and playing and coaching volleyball. A former varsity volleyball athlete, Dr. Ben is currently an assistant coach for the varsity women’s volleyball teams at SFU and former assistant coach for his alma mater, Capilano University. Dr. Ben also enjoys spending time with his young dog, Teddy, and spending time with his family and friends.

Completed his 1st season as an assistant coach for Capilano University Blues (2022-2023)
Dr. Ben enjoys coaching and loves inspiring the next generation of young athletes. His extensive background in coaching young children to adults alike has helped him develop the skills necessary to educate individuals on the best personalized treatment options and how to maintain good oral health habits throughout one’s lifetime. Dentistry has long been his passion and he is excited to serve the community in the best way he can.
Simon Fraser University Red Leafs
Entering his 7th season as an assistant coach for the Simon Fraser University Red Leafs (2017-Present)
Dr. Ben spent 5 years as a varsity volleyball athlete at both Capilano University and the University of British Columbia. Dr. Ben has been involved in coaching beach and indoor volleyball for youth, adults, and high performance athletes alike. His experiences include helping out with the senior women’s national team in 2017, assistant coaching for Team B.C. in 2018, working at the Volleyball Canada Regional Excellence Program in North Vancouver, and coaching various clubs and camps for Volleyball BC and other organizations.
Dr Ben is excited to be returning to coach volleyball at the youth level for one of the local clubs in 2024 after taking a few years off to complete the rest of his dentistry education. Dr Ben is an active member of the volleyball community who has a real passion for the process of helping athletes improve their technical, physical, and mental skills while bettering themselves as players and as people.
